Betty was born and raised in Dayton and was a resident of Hearth & Home Nursing Care Facility at the time of her passing. As a 1956 graduate of Julienne High School she made life-long friends, several of which she remained close to her entire life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille Werts and her aunt, Elizabeth Steger (Aunt Betty).
Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jim Buchanan and sons Michael (Tracy) and Mark, both of Dayton. Also left to grieve her loss are her beloved grandchildren Carly, Andrew and Grace. Betty was the consummate hostess, was a fabulous cook and never passed up an opportunity to have a party. If you were fortunate enough to receive one of Betty’s “special recipes”, please prepare it in her memory.
